[He needs to move, to be faster than this. He wasn’t about to let this damn place take him again, or kill him as seemed to be the intent here. There was too much at stake. Too many tasks to do and people to find. No, he was going to survive, even if he had to kill every single person in his way to do it.
Like so many times before, he let that determination and fury fill him so that he could ignore the pain and exhaustion that hounded his every step as he fled. If he could get up into the scaffolding then he would be able to rain hell down upon these two so-called hunters and take them out of the picture. That much he was confident over as he took another jump and stumbled slightly on the landing, his thigh clearly troubling him even as he continued to push it past the limits of a normal man. It would be dealt with later, once the reunion had happened somewhere far safer than here.
A blast caught him in the back though, tossing him forward from the impact as pain seared across his left shoulder where his gear had already been compromised by an earlier brawl with a particularly explosive personality. He cursed silently to himself as he realized he should have found the time to examine it, repair and replace what needed to be tended. There was no excuse for that; he knew better, knew a good soldier was always well geared and ready to go.]
Dammit.
[The voice was digitized and synthetic as Smile pulled himself back up to his feet and scrambled. His arm wasn’t moving the way it should at first as he kept it close to his side, the shock and burning pain making him cautious of it but he wasn’t going to get anywhere if he didn’t use it, weakened or not. And as he came to the edge of this roof, it was clear that he was going to need it as the jump was a little too far for him to just land on one of the steel beams across the divide. At least, it was with a bum leg. There was a pulley system raised though with a thick cable and a counter weight below. He could make that and if he didn’t… Well, failure just wasn’t an option and never had been.
It was completely a leap of faith on his part as he backed up then with a quick burst of speed, leaped out across the gulf to grab onto the cable like his life depended on it; good arm grasping furiously for purchase as it whizzed past him with his drop before he got a grip and was able to stop himself.
It was petty, but he took a moment to glance back over to the adjacent roof that the two bounty hunters were sure to come across and flipped the distant figures off with his injured arm before he pulled his gun out one more time to shoot the rope he held free at the opposing base to send himself racing upwards several floors as a reckless speed, overshooting his mark in the process but it gave him a moment to breath as he hopped onto the building frame and started to use the bare beams as a skyway across the structure.]
