[Excuse him for being suspicious when he suddenly finds himself ripped away from probably the most important and risky battle in his life, just after coming back from the almost-dead, to find himself under mental assault while facing off against one of the most dangerous villains known to history, and now contesting with a decidedly inhuman version of his childhood best friend -- during said mental assault -- who hasn't 100% proved that he's the genuine article due to them being in Katsuki's mind, which has plenty of exploitable data on all of Izuku's abilities and nuances!!
How the fuck is he to blame for reacting the way he does in this kind of situation?! An octopus version of Izuku can use Blackwhip and Katsuki's still not sure whether the person in front of him is a figment of his imagination or a cloaked covering of the person responsible for putting him in this fucking loop in the first place!! This has absolutely nothing to do with the proverbial extending hand!
The two taps at his back are definitely not an attack, but... Katsuki's standing his ground. He's likewise not attacking at least. The comment about them being four earns an annoyed click of his tongue. Rude. It's because he recognizes Izuku so well that he can't trust whoever's doing this hasn't taken that recognition from his mind and applied it right now.
Katsuki's never been as trusting as Izuku is... and just like Katsuki's been used to get to Izuku, the same's not untrue in reverse. His eyes narrow. Guilty. This guy's got some balls saying that to him. Were this not as fantasy-based as it were, he might have been more ready to believe it. Right now, he's still wary. Izuku's tired, sad, quiet reaction to that needles him.
Ironically what makes it better proof that is Izuku. Meaning Katsuki's lowering his hand. Fuck being called out like that though. Pisses him off.]
I'm not fucking apologizing for making sure you're you, Deku.
[So don't get pissy at him. He's not an idiot.]
What the hell's going on here? Why're you an octopus?
