There was a moment of pause from Yazoo as he studied the other while he tried to determine if there was any insincerity or maliciousness behind his words but given the complete lack of history between the two and any kind of beneficial gain that he could fathom, it left very little reason why someone he'd just met would have any purpose to make these claims if they were false.
Not impossible, mind, but highly unlikely.
And it wasn't as if he was unaware of how abruptly his own life had started but he had a mother. Or at least he thought he had but now he wasn't so certain as seemingly hundreds of conflicting thoughts churned through his mind and it was obvious that he was considering Emet-Selch's words very seriously with his own memories in focus. And there were very few memories of his own personal experience but quite a bit of knowledge that seemed contextual and circumstantial as if it belonged to someone else but now resided in his own mind. It was odd that he’d never really thought of that before, this strange schism between memory and knowledge he possessed. And without his brothers with him, he had no means of discovering if that was true for them as well.
“I see.” He answered after a few moments of silent consideration, “That’s rather…Hm.” He didn’t sound particularly thrilled by this burden of knowledge though he certainly wasn’t about to crumble under its weight either. He had just a bit too much self-control and cold detachment for that, even about himself it would seem. And then there were the grating events preceding his unexpected arrival here which had been quickly shoved into the back of his mind while absolute madness had erupted around him at the time. “I’m not entirely certain I have anywhere to go.”

And still be a corporal living mass.
