[ he hates this. the feeling of water completely wrapped around his unfamiliar body, the fact that he no longer has the natural ability to wield fire, or that he was peppered with memories of personal failure all before he plunged into what he believes is the ocean. the sea.
the most familiar thing that he knows, of course, is struggling and fighting for survival. so in a way, this is the most natural place he can be.
however, he's never been a fish before. or a half-fish. or whatever this is. that lio is barely able to dodge one net that nearly drops on top of him for another to take its place, weighted by heavy iron sinkers. the former burnish tries to fight it, trying to grasp onto the thick fibers, trying to pull them apart... but he can't. that his tail is becoming more and more tangled causes panic to rise in his chest--- he knows he can breathe underwater. the gills along his neck make it so. and yet. ]
